Daily Dairy Cash Trading: Butter Closes Down, Tuesday

US – Grade AA standard Butter dropped half a cent following a quiet day of trading on Tuesday.

This left the spot price at $1.5400. Cheddar blocks also closed down by 0.25 cents, finishing the day on $1.7500 which is still above last week’s average.

Cheddar barrels lifted 1.25 cents to $1.7600 after two trades.

Non-fat dry milk was unchanged at Tuesday’s close with Grade A standards staying at $1.6925 and Extra grade at $1.7000.

Milk and Cheese June futures weakened with whey staying put on $0.5850. Class III futures closed down seven cents to $18.04 with Cheese losing half a cent down to $1.7700.

June Butter also decreased to $1.5663 down from $1.5700 in a day that saw Corn lift considerably and Soybean meal lift over 4 cents for both July and December.
