GLOBAL - This week's Global Dairy Trade (GDT) Price Index showed a fall of 1.6 per cent compared with the previous trading event.
The average price achieved at the auction was $2,458 (USD/MT, FAS).
Both the previous trading events, on 1 and 15 December 2015, showed increases in the price index, whilst the three events before that showed a downward trajectory.
The biggest price fall was for Whole Milk Powder, with a fall of 4.4 per cent. Skim Milk Powder prices fell by 0.8 per cent.
In contrast, butter prices performed well, with an increase of 6.7 per cent. Cheddar prices improved by 3.5 per cent.
