World Dairy Price Ends Downhill Slide

GLOBAL – The Global Dairy Trade Price Index closed up 0.9 per cent yesterday, ending a downward trend running back to February.

Greatest price increases were seen for Butter Milk Powder, which climbed 17 per cent higher.

Other big gains were for Rennet Casein, up 4.6 per cent, and Cheddar and Whole Milk Powder, both up 2.4 per cent.

The positive result is the first since a 0.5 per cent increase on 4 February and follows a cumulative drop of 29 per cent over the preceding eight trades.
