Daily Dairy Trading: Small Increases to Open Trading Week

US – Small increases in Butter and Grade A Nonfat Dry Milk were reported at the opening of the week.

Butter closed at $1.5625, up 0.25 cents after registering two trades. Grade A NDM lifted 1.25 cents to $1.9450, leaving a 7.5 cent gap between the two standards as Extra Grade remained below on $1.8700.

Cheddar prices are running five cents lower than the prior week average, as is NDM Grade A, 2.5 cents below last week’s mean price, according to data from the Agricultural Marketing Service, USDA. 

Class III milk closed four cents higher, finishing trading at $18.82. Class IV reported $20.50 at the close.

Futures traders reported November Cheese finishing on $1.8620 and Whey closing on $0.5753, almost four cents ahead of November Butter - $0.5753.
