Over the past year, farmers have been tasked with increasing the region’s processing share by 7 per cent by improving milk quality.

The target is that 65 per cent of milk will satisfy ‘high quality’ requirements.

This figure has already risen from 20 to 50 per cent.

Dmitry Andreev, Governor for the Ryazan region has said that the region's milk revolution is critical due to its dependence on state subsidy which is the highest for the country, standing at three rubles per litre.
