Daily Dairy Trading: Slide Continues In Spot Cheese

US – Two weeks of regression leaves Cheddar Barrels almost 15 cents per pound lower which suggests pressure cheese supplies are easing, according to reports from the USDA and CME.

Cheddar Blocks dropped 4 cents leaving the price per pound at $1.6375, a drop of 8.55 cents on prior week values. Barrels have fallen further over this period, 14.7 cents lower than the week before.

Non-fat dry milk remains unchanged for both Grade A and Extra Grade standards which have remained on $1.7300 and $1.7000 respectively.

June Class III milk lifted 2 cents to $18.04 while Class IV dropped 2 cents to $18.92. Cheese corrected to settle on $1.7780, where it has been most of the week.
