Daily Dairy Trading: Cheese Blocks Continue Slide

US – There were two movers in the dairy cash market in Chicago yesterday as 40 pound blocks closed down $0.0175 and Grade A NFDM edged higher.

A down trend has been seen for cheese blocks this week. Closing Monday on $1.7525, the spot price is now at $1.7325 after 8 trades.

Nonfat Dry Milk values have remained unchanged for Extra Grade at $1.7000 although Grade A rose to $1.6950.

Butter prices have remained strong and held ground at $1.5400 after slipping on Tuesday. Futures rebounded from Monday’s losses which saw June Butter return to $1.5700.

Whey futures lost a quarter cent, closing on $0.5825 and non-fat dry milk, also for June, lifted a quarter cent to $1.6850.
