AgriScot BVD Seminar To Be Held

SCOTLAND, UK - With compulsory testing for Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) nearing for Scotland, an AgriScot seminar will look at what this means for Scottish farmers and the industry.

The seminar is to be held in seminar Room one, Highland Hall Upstairs Foyer, 3.00pm – 4.00 pm on 16 November 2011.

With compulsory testing for BVD begining in Scotland on the 1 December. The talks will discuss:

  • What will this mean for livestock Farmers?
  • What will this mean for veterinary surgeons?
  • How will mandatory testing for BVD benefit the Scottish livestock industry?

The speakers at the seminar are as follows:

Gordon Struth, Scottish Government, will discuss the Scottish Government’s plan for BVD eradication.

Paul Burr of Hi Health Herdcare and Bob Mitchell, Perthshire farmer, will outline a practical approach to testing for and dealing with BVD infection in a family run dairy farm.

Saul Harvey Veterinary Surgeon with Novartis Animal Health will explain the role of vaccination in BVD eradication
