A collective bargaining group of National Foods suppliers will spend the money on preparing for a Senate inquiry into the issue reports ABC.

Tasmanian Premier David Bartlett says he wants the money to be used for putting together the best argument for the farmers.

"The government wants to show that the dairy industry right across Tasmania has our full support," he said.

"We stand shoulder to shoulder with dairy farmers and we will do all that we can to help them through these difficult times."
