Print This Page India Extends Ban on Chinese Dairy Products
INDIA - India has extended the ban on dairy products import from China.The dairy products ban has been extended for six months to ward of any threat of contaminated whitener which had caused deaths of few infants and made several thousands ill. The ban was to expire on June 24. A notification to this effect was issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) here, reports TheHindu.
India, in September 2008, had imposed ban on Chinese milk and its products for three months which was later extended in December last year for six months. While India does not import milk products from China, the ban is being seen as a preventive measure.
