Print This Page Dairy farmers seek financial support
FIJI - Naitasiri dairy farmers are urging the interim government to consider subsidizing dairy feed so that they can increase production.The farmers’ spokesman Vijendra Prakash is also urging the Agriculture Ministry to look for markets from where they can cattle feed cheaply.
“We request the Ministry of Finance and the Minister and also we are requesting the Minister for Agriculture to reconsider this stand.
“They should also try to assist the already sick dairy industry and help the farmers so we are able to progress and the dairy industry is able to prosper for a certain period of time till we are able to stand on our feet and also we want the government to investigate the whole industry and find out where the faults are,” he added.
