Domestic Milk Intake Down 6.2% in December
Domestic milk intake by creameries and pasteurisers was estimated at 136.2 million litres for December 2012. This was 6.2% below the corresponding 2011 figure.
Comparing the December 2012 milk produce figures with those for December 2011 shows that:
- Total milk sold for human consumption increased by 0.8% to 40.2 million litres.
- Butter production was down 16.3% to 4,100 tonnes.
