Dairy farmers depend on co-ops to maximise milk price

11 March 2020

IRELAND - IFA National Dairy Chairman Tom Phelan yesterday said that while Ireland is living through an exceptional public health crisis, the farming community depended on processors to maximise returns.

Mr Phelan reminded co-op boards, who will be meeting in coming days to consider milk prices, that dairy market returns continued positive in February, with the Ornua PPI returning at least 1.5c/l more than co-ops have been paying for January milk.
