Animal Health Programme to Be Justified With Cost-Efficiency Study

NICARAGUA – Cost-efficiency is the aim of a government veterinary service project being rolled out across the whole of Central America.

Disease control measures are being evaluated to strengthen technical capacities of national veterinary services in the hope of benefiting farmers and consumers.

The project, entitled Economic Evaluation of National Animal Health was described as a means of justifying animal health programmes to the public by Gilberto Real, Animal Health Officer for the World Food and Agriculture Organisation.
