France Looks to Compensate Schmallenberg Victims

19 March 2012

FRANCE - Livestock professionals met with Agriculture Minister Bruno Le Maire last week to discuss the Schmallenberg situation in France.

Professionals took the opportunity to remind breeders that precautions should be taken when moving livestock, and that all suspected cases should be reported to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Mr Le Maire asked professionals to put forward ideas for a fund that could compensate producers suffering from the affects of the virus.
