Big Price Increases at Global Dairy Trade Auction

GLOBAL - The Global Dairy Trade Price Index rose by 6.6 per cent this week, after being almost flat since the beginning of June.

The average price reached at the auction was $2,436 (USD/MT, FAS).

Price Indices increased across all products sold except for Cheddar, which decreased marginally. There was a strong 9.9 per cent increase in the Whole Milk Powder Price Index, which made up around half of the product traded.

Skimmed Milk Powder rose by 2.1 per cent.

The total volume offered was 34.9k tonnes, down 28 per cent on same week last year. The next auction is due to take place on Tuesday 16 August 2016.
