Funding to Boost North East India Fodder and Rations
INDIA - Fourteen dairy projects worth a combined $4.2 million have been sanctioned for Bihar state by the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

These 14 sub-projects would be implemented for activities like fodder development (FD), ration balancing programme (RBP) and village based milk procurement system (VBMPS).
The ministry said that the benefitted EAIs are Bihar State Milk Cooperative Federation-COMFED ( Kosi and Magadh Dairy Projects), Baruni Milk Union, Mithila (Samastipur) Milk Union, Tirhut (Muzzafarpur) Milk Union, Vaishali Patliputra (Patna) Milk Union and Vikramshila (Bhagalpur) Milk Union.
For Fodder Development, 4 sub projects have been approved for implementation by milk unions of Barauni, Mithila, Tirhut (Muzzaffarpur) and Vikramshila (Bagalpur).
Under Village Milk Procurement Systems through Dairy Cooperatives (VBMPS) activity, 6 projects have been approved for implementation by COMFED ( at Kosi and Magagdh) and milk unions of Mithila, Tirhut, Vaishal Patliputra (Patna) and Vikramshila.
For RBP, 4 projects have been approved for implementation by COMFED ( at Kosi and Magagdh) and Milk unions of Mithila and Vaishal Patliputra (Patna), the statement said.
The National Dairy Plan-I (NDP-I) which was launched during March, 2012 for the five year period has set an objective to productivity of milch animals and thereby increase milk production to meet the rapidly growing demand for milk and to help provide rural milk producers with greater access to the organised milk-processing sector.
The funds comprise $4.05 million as grant assistance $150,000 as share of end implementing agencies(EIAs), the Indian agriculture ministry said in a statement recently.
