A franchise partnership between Richard Keenan & Co and the Shanghai Shengmu Livestock Company will expand Keenan’s coverage in the Shanghai region across the entire country.

The €7 million deal will accelerate sales of mixer wagons across the Chinese market and its 12 million dairy cows.

Congratulating the two bodies on the deal, Agriculture Minister Simon Conveney said: ‘Today’s significant announcement clearly demonstrates what innovative Irish companies can achieve in China.

Gerard Keenan said: ‘It is very exciting to be working in new regions, with new partners and we have seen great interest in our offering.

“Mr. Chen brings exceptional experience in ruminant feeding systems and we are delighted we will now have a full China reach to bring Keenan technology to China’s family farms and large scale farming operations that are springing up right across China.”
