GLOBAL – Consumers are buying less branded cheddar overall, while the market as a whole enjoys growth.
Total spend on branded cheddar fell 50 per cent for the 52 week period ending 17 August, compared to same period a year earlier.
This according to Kantar Worldpanel data which showed some growth in sales of some cheddar, significantly outperforming the market.
Around two thirds of branded cheddars are mature varieties, which has been the biggest hit.
