03 September 2014

GLOBAL – World dairy prices took another hit yesterday, falling six per cent on the global dairy trade.

Milk powders, butter, cheddar and rennet casein all closed lower, continuing a string of losses over a seven month downward trend.

On 4 February this year the Global Dairy Trade Price index was at 1,482, slipping to 822 over the summer.

The average winning bid was $2,787.
