World Dairy Prices Slump Again

GLOBAL – The global dairy trade index closed 8.9 per cent lower yesterday, driven in part by Whole Milk Powder values slipping.

This continues a general downward trend since February, adding to the 4.9 per cent drop at the start of the month, taking the index to its lowest point since October 2012.

Anhydrous milk fat - down 10 per cent - and WMP – down 10.9 per cent – were behind the losses.

Rennet Casein fell 8.9 per cent, while Skimmed Milk Powder fell 7.1 per cent.
