Daily Dairy Trading: Eleven Cent Leap For Cheddar Barrels, Tuesday

US – Nonfat Dry Milk sold well and Cheese spot prices showed a surge, including 11 cents for Barrells, on Tuesday.

Five trades were reported for NDM Grade A at an unchanged price of $2.0800 by the Agricultural Marketing Service at the US Department of Agriculture.

The government also reported Barrels leaping to $2.0600 and Cheddar Blocks up six cents to $2.1100, following single bids for each commodity.

Elsewhere, light bidding maintained Butter at $1.6200.

Futures settlements showed gains in the market with Class III January Milk leading the way, up 22 cents to $20.28.

Class IV closed four cents higher to $21.81 and Cheese finished on $2.003, up from $1.9820.

Whey fell back slightly and NDM inched higher. January Butter closed unchanged on $1.5990.
