Genomics and dairy breeding specialist Cogent has announced Bakombre a bull standing out from other high ranking animals with a milk volume of 758 kg and fat score of 0.11 per cent.

Bakombre is the son of Baxter and mothered by a cow bringing Goldwyn and Oman and genetics.

He also rates in the top ten for profitable lifetime index at £235, down to daughter health, fertility, conformation and his overall transmitting ability.

With good chest, rump and legs, Bakombre has a faultless profile, according to Cogent.

“Bakombre’s Predicted Transmitting Ability and his pedigree combine to make him one of the most sought after genetic packages in the world,” said Cogent’s Andy Smith.

He added: “This family has bred many leading AI sires including Dakota, Danillo and Derren. Bakombre’s dam, Destiny VG86, gave 11,600kg as a heifer and his grandam, ALH Destiny VG87, who is one of the most famous Oman daughters in the world, gave 12,500kg as a heifer.”

“We’re delighted at the quality of his milking daughters in Germany, and we have every confidence that when his UK daughters start to milk, he will continue to excel in every department.”
