Daily Dairy Trading: Milk Futures Climbing Higher

US – November Class III and IV milk traded higher today, each closing five cents higher at $18.85 and $20.59 respectively.

This continues an upward trend for Class IV, which closed at $20.50 on Monday, according to the Agricultural Marketing Service at the US Department of Agriculture.

Elsewhere in the futures market, Whey edged higher at $0.5733, as did Nonfat Dry Milk, up to $1.8790 yesterday.

Butter and Cheese both closed unchanged on $1.8620 and $1.5400 respectively, both reporting little price action for the week so far.

Spot prices saw the Cheddar margin widen as Barrels fell a cent to $1.7600. Blocks closed unchanged on $1.8025, both valued substantially below last week’s figures.

Light bidding forced Butter two cents higher to $1.6050, this is above recent prices which have hovered around the mid 50’s.
