Chinese Agricultural Food Prices Keep Rising
CHINA - Prices of agricultural foodstuffs in China kept rising last week according to a survey of prices in 36 medium and large sized cities by the Ministry of Commerce(MOFCOM).

The price of meats maintained a steady rise.
The wholesale price of pork rose by two per cent compared with the previous week, and beef rose by 0.2 per cent, while lamb remained unchanged.
The retail prices of chicken and eggs saw a slight rise.
The price of eggs rose by 0.4 per cent compared the previous week after falling for five consecutive weeks.
Chicken was up by 0.1 per cent.
The average wholesale prices of eight kinds of aquatic products were up by 0.3 per cent compared with the previous week.
The top rise in prices were for silver carp, grass carp and crucian carp, which rose by 1.2 per cent, 1 per cent and 0.8 per cent respectively.
Retail prices of edible oil and grain remained basically stable.
Small package rice rose by 0.2 per cent compared to previous week, while soybean oil fell by 0.1 per cent, and small package of flour, peanut oil and rapeseed oil remained unchanged.
The wholesale prices of 18 vegetables were up by 3.4 per cent compared with the previous week due to the reduced supply of leaf vegetables because of the high temperatures.
The top rises in price were for cabbage, celery and rape, up by14.1 per cent, 12.5 per cent and 10.5 per cent respectively.
