Breeding Project to Lift Liuzhou’s Beef, Milk Production

CHINA - By promoting crossbreeding, Liuzhou in South China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region plans to improve the performance, quality and efficiency of milk and beef production in the city.

The Liuzhou animal agriculture department said recently that promoting good cattle breeding will play a key role this year to help the city boost the business of livestock farming.

Liuzhou city has set up a goal to complete the crossbreeding of 32,000 cows. The city has completed 51.63 percent of its goal by crossbreeding 16,522 cows as of the end of June.

According to the local animal agriculture department, crossbreeding can help create better, stronger cattle, which are able to produce more, higher quality milk and beef.
