Ministry Extends FMD Vaccination-free Zone04 March 2013
ARGENTINA – An extension of the foot and mouth disease (FMD) vaccination free zone has been confirmed from the regions between Black River Province and the Party of Patagonian province of Buenos Aires.
The decision comes as part of government intentions to provide a FMD vaccination free area to receive international recognition for livestock producers in the region.
“This measure fully incorporates the land in between the Black River Province to Patagones Party,” said Minister for Agriculture, Nolberto Yauhar. “It will consolidate a large area attached to the Patagonian area that has had disease-free status.”
Mr Yuahar hopes the decision will lead to more foreign market access to farmers in the area.
