Government Confirm Additional Subsidy
SPAIN - A new allocation of single farm payment entitlements from the national reserve has been approved by royal decree as part of dairy sector restructuring policy.

The approval comes after the bill received Brussels approval after a Management Committee for Direct Payments meeting. The additional payment is split over last year and 2013 in equal instalments totalling 31 million euros.
Producers with quotas of 12,500 kg or above have rights to access the funding. Businesses that that applied for common agricultural policy before April 30 2012 will not have to make a new application.
Funding amounts are determined by the size of holdings. Farmers can expect 4-5 euros per tonne up to a limit of 305,000 tonnes.
