While some big processors are talking about cutting prices, farmers supplying Norco will get the same farmgate prices they got last year, reports ABCRural.

That's more than 52 cents a litre for fresh market, or tier one, milk and about 40 cents for manufacturing milk.

Norco chairman Greg McNamara says strong customer support is part of the reason the co-operative can maintain prices.

"It's all been working really well, we've got our cost base right for manufacturing product and when others have actually seen movement of their brands in a downward spiral, we've actually held our brands."

Mr McNamara says Norco has been speaking to Queensland famers who've lost their contracts with Lion.
