The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received an immediate notification yesterday, 12 March. According to the report, the affected population consists of cattle from a feedlot whose animals come from many sources from local markets.

Five animals suddenly died after three days of infection. They showed acute respiratory signs. The affected animals are new stock.

Out of a total of 46 susceptible animals, 11 cases were reported. No animals were destroyed in the process.

Introduction of new live animals has been sourced as the main root of the outbreak. The OIE, in conjunction with the country's competent veterinary authorities, have applied several measures to contain the situation.
