The “Contract with Producers” has been put forward as a means to inform and organise the producer sector of the US dairy industry.

According to a report on The Minnesota Farm Guide, the contract identifies eight tasks that the producers' organisation is to follow to ensure producer profitability.

The contract identifies the Top 10 issues that are impacting the dairy industry and the financial hardships of dairy producers.

The Fartm Guide said that the National Dairy Producers Organization revealed their position and plans to implement immediate changes, on behalf of dairy producers, based on these “Top 10.” An additional 10 issues are documented in the “Contract with Producers” and identified as issues on the board of directors’ working agenda.

The board members will meet at the World Ag Expo in Tulare, California on 8, 9 and 10 February to sign the contract as part of their annual meeting.

The contract can be reviewed on the National Dairy Producers Organization Inc. website, www.nationaldairyproducers.org.
