The Department of Environment and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has announced November's compensation payable in England (and in Wales and Scotland for BSE only) for a bovine animal compulsorily slaughtered for disease control purposes – including bovine tuberculosis (TB), bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), brucellosis and enzootic bovine leukosis (EBL).
