World Dairy Expo Starts Tomorrow In Madison

US - Last year's Supreme Champion at the World Dairy Expo will defend its title this year in Madison, Wisconsin.

Harvue Frosty Roy, a Holstein from Rudolph, Wisconsin, is competing again this year.

The World Dairy Expo starts tomorrow (Tuesday 28th) at the Alliant Energy Centre. This year's trade show features 769 companies from 26 countries; 137 are making first appearances, reports The Chicago Tribune.

Last year, attendance was nearly 65,000, down about 4,000 from the previous year.

But price for Class 3 milk at the time of last year's expo was $12.11 per hundredweight, up from a low of $9.31 earlier in the year. Milk prices for August were $15.18, about the break-even point for most producers.
