Second Anthrax Outbreak In Slovakia

SLOVAKIA - A second outbreak of anthrax has been reported.

The veterinary authority sent Follow Up Report No. 1 dated 21 July to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The report describes a second outbreak of anthrax, starting on 16 July, also in Svidník in the region of Presov in the north-east of the country – the area affected in the first outbreak.

On a farm with six cattle, there was one case, one animal died and one was destroyed.
