Dairy Daughters has earned a reputation over many years for its innovation, its successful business model and its direct marketing software, all of which have enabled the company to grow into a thriving business serving the UK’s farmers.

However, the forthcoming retirement of its former owner and managing director, Evans Drayton, meant a sale was almost inevitable, and the strong links the company has developed with World Wide Sires meant this company was always a likely buyer.

Mr Drayton has committed to remain with Dairy Daughters as managing director for the next three years.

“This purchase is very important for our staff and our customers because it means we as a business will continue to thrive, while our customers will benefit from the high calibre of genetics we have always sourced through WWS,” said Mr Drayton. “Equally, management, sales and support teams will all remain the same.”

For its part, World Wide Sires, USA – which is the international marketing business for the US co-operatives Select Sires and Accelerated Genetics and also represents European studs Masterrind, Xenética Fontao, Aberekin and Semenzoo in many markets throughout the world - gains an important strategic company. Dairy Daughters becomes the only distributorship it owns in the UK and adds a profitable company to its portfolio, whose business model can be replicated elsewhere.

“We are delighted to have been able to purchase Dairy Daughters,” said Mike Rakes, WWS USA. “The business model and direct semen marketing software the company has so successfully developed will be an important part of our distributors’ businesses throughout the world, and are already being used in Australia, New Zealand and Spain.”

Evans Drayton added: “Dairy Daughters has always been, and will remain, an innovative business and has established a strong position in the UK based on outstanding value and good service.

“We have offered customers some of the world’s greatest bulls like Oman, Patron and Braveheart, as well as exceptional value bulls like Kendall, RSVP and Duce, and will continue to do so under the WWS umbrella.”
