The farmers have been hit by low prices and heavy rains that have hit milk production and reduced paddocks to mud.

Farmers and Graziers Association drought officer Nick Flittner says the meeting came up with a number of ways forward, according to a report on ABC News.

Farmers and Graziers Association drought officer Nick Flittner says the meeting came up with a number of ways forward, particularly tackling concerns over depression caused by the crisis.

"It's a very positive community up here, they've got a lot of things in place already, and they obviously care very deeply about each other, so that's a very positive thing," he told ABC.

"It's going to be painful for some people for a period of time, no doubt but with the support that's available here we should be able to manage our way through."
