Increasing Milk Yield of Cattle

INDIA - An agricultural worker in the Indian district of Theni, has claimed to double his milk yield through feeding grape leaves!

The Hindu reports that Mr Ponraj, found the leaves of grape vine cultivated in and around his village have increased his milk production from his two cows, from one litre to two litres.

He has since been feeding grape leaves to his cows and goats. Grape farmers have discovered that the leaves of grape vine are relished by cattle and started feeding the pruned leaves and also dried grape leaves to them.
