FMD Reported in Chinese Taipei

TAIWAN - The veterinary authorities have reported a new case of foot and mouth disease (FMD) to the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE).

The Taiwan veterinary authority has sent an Immediate Notification dated 20 July to OIE.

The report describes an outbreak of FMD in a small pig herd in Jhubei City in the region of Hsin-Chu in northern Taiwan. It started a week before. All nine animals in the herd have been destroyed.
