FIJI - Two dairy farms in Fiji have been quarantined following the discovery of an outbreak of brucellosis. The outbreak is on farms in Wainivesi and Waimaro in Tailevu North, according to a report on Radio New Zealand International.
The authorities have warned consumers not todrink unpasteurised milk and milk suppliers in the affected areas have been ordered to stop deliveries.
The Ministry says all Rewa Dairy products are safe for consumption because they undergo the pasteurisation process.
Livestock officers are now to carry out tests on the more than 200 dairy farms in the Wainivesi and Waimaro areas.
