![]() Hi all,
We have a cow on the farm that has a 2 month old calf. About 5 weeks ago, we noticed she hadn't the greatest appetite and was drooling excessively. She had also developed a hard swelling under her jaw. Vet was called, she said that her tongue was actually fine and that the swelling was underneath. We gave her antibiotics/anti-inflammatories for a few weeks. Her appetite got better (she went in a separate pen, she can chew her cud and drooling abated), the swelling didn't really reduce. And now, how she is currently. Her drooling has gone back to how it was. The swelling under her jaw has gotten rock-solid, and appears to now extend in a hard ridge down along her neck as well. She's eating well, she's just not improving at all. Any ideas as to what she might have? I've seen all the lumpy jaw / bottle jaw / wooden tongue / Johne's disease things and none of them seem to fit in her case. |
