Default Cattle and calf hoof size?

Hi,

Can anyone help me with any guidance on cow's and their calves hoof size?

I work for a civi engineering company who are currently designing a fish pass structure to bypass a weir. The structure will be located on a farmer's field and will have a grating across the top.

The clear gap in the grating is 42mm by 42mm. Is this small enough to prevent cattle hooves from becoming trapped?

Thanks for any help,
Andy
