TAIWAN - The Taiwanese veterinary authorities have reported an outbreak of foot and mouth disease in Kinmen.
The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 1 on Friday, 24 February. The affected population consists of cattle and pigs.
A total of 98 pigs were found susceptible, out of which 26 cases were reported. All 98 pigs were destroyed. In the case of cattle, one animal was found susceptible and destroyed.
The source of the outbreak remains inconclusive.
