Since it launched in 2006, Open Farm Sunday has attracted nearly one million visitors on to farms to discover where their food comes from and appreciate the vital role farmers play in caring for the countryside. This has established the event as the annual open day for the food and farming industry.
For this year's campaign, extra focus will be given to sustainable farming, providing a platform for farmers to demonstrate the work they do to enrich the environment and manage natural resources whilst producing our food.

UFAW, the International Animal Welfare Science Society, is an independent, scientific and educational animal welfare charity. The organisation promotes high standards of welfare for farm, companion, laboratory and captive wild animals and those with which we interact in the wild.

Educational sessions include aquaculture, beef and dairy.

This course provides participants with an overview of basic dairy technology and the manufacture of cultured dairy products, including buttermilk, sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, and cream cheese. Lectures and laboratory exercises address milk composition and coagulation, metabolic and technological aspects of starter cultures, and flavoring systems for cultured dairy products.
