Print This Page Profs work on test that checks for mad cow in living animals
CANADA - Two University of Guelph scientists expect their innovative sensor for brain-wasting infections will eliminate the need to cull entire herds of cattle suspected of having mad cow disease. The sensor performs tests on brain samples obtained from dead animals, but engineering professors Warren Stiver and Gordon Hayward hope it will eventually test urine and blood samples so that live animals can be tested.To continue reading this article please click here
